Acceptance
By using Hilo, you accept these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Service
Hilo is a daily word game. Ogam Labs may change, fix, or remove features, content, puzzles, prices, or availability to maintain and improve the app.
Permitted use
You must use Hilo personally and lawfully. You must not try to manipulate purchases, ads, scores, progress systems, app security, or integrated third-party services.
Purchases and subscriptions
Purchases and subscriptions are sold through Apple App Store and are also subject to Apple's terms. Prices, trials, renewals, cancellations, and refunds are managed from your Apple account.
Pro features are enabled when the app can verify a valid purchase or subscription. If you cancel or Apple cannot renew a subscription, Pro access may end at the end of the relevant period.
Ads
The free version may include rewarded ads for hints and interstitial ads at limited moments. Ad availability may depend on your region, connectivity, consent, and providers.
Content
Ogam Labs and its licensors retain rights in the app’s own puzzles, text, design and brand. You may play and share results using the provided features. Community authors retain the rights they hold in their own contributions; publishing does not transfer ownership to Ogam Labs.
Publishing and using the community
You must have the rights and permissions needed for content you publish. Do not post illegal or abusive material, hateful or sexual content, threats, harassment, spam, impersonation, private personal information or content that infringes others’ rights. Do not manipulate play counts or bypass moderation. Publication requires an account and any Pro entitlement indicated in the app; playing public hilos does not require a Pro purchase. Playing in the community requires a free account with Sign in with Apple. Free access lets you unlock one new, distinct hilo each day, with no rollover; the allowance resets at 00:00 UTC and the app shows the equivalent time in your time zone. You can replay previously unlocked hilos while they remain published and available to your account. PRO removes this community unlocking limit. The archive allowance is separate.
By publishing, you grant Ogam Labs a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence limited to storing, displaying, distributing and technically adapting the content to operate and moderate Hilo, and allowing other players to play it. This licence does not permit unrelated commercial exploitation. You can withdraw a publication; limited retained records are governed by the privacy policy.
You can report a hilo, block an author and contact [email protected]. Ogam Labs may filter, restrict or remove content and suspend accounts that breach these rules, and review reports. We normally review submitted hilos and reports within 24 to 48 hours, and the app tells you the reason when a hilo is rejected or removed. If you disagree with a moderation decision, you can ask for it to be reviewed by writing to [email protected]. Community content is supplied by its authors and is not guaranteed to be accurate or suitable for everyone. You can delete your community account in the app; deleting it does not cancel an Apple subscription, which you manage separately with Apple.
Availability
We try to keep Hilo available and working correctly, but we do not guarantee it will be free from errors, interruptions, or changes. Some features may require connectivity, Apple services, or external providers.
Limitation of liability
Hilo is provided as is, to the extent permitted by law. Ogam Labs will not be liable for indirect damages, data loss, lost profits, or issues arising from use or inability to use the app, except where the law does not allow that limitation.
